Blanca Nieves Fernández Ochoa was born in Madrid on April 22, 1963 and after her sports career she has become one of the most important Spanish skiers.
She is the first Spanish woman to win an Olympic medal in a Winter Olympics, specifically the bronze medal in the giant slalom at the Olympic Games in Albertville 1992. Today, she is still the only Spanish to win such a win in winter sports .
Although she has been retired from the professional sports world for more than 20 years, Blanca is still linked to the world of skiing and has tried to transmit to the whole world what it was like to be a pioneer in Spanish sport.
