Oscar Pereiro Sio was born in Mos, Pontevedra on August 3, 1977.
He has been a professional Spanish cyclist from 2000 to 2010. He won the Tour de France in 2006, becoming the fifth Spanish winner in its history.
Since his retirement as a rider, Oscar Pereiro has been dedicated to Spanish football. In 2010, announces his retirement from cycling and the same year reached an agreement to join the football team squad Coruxo Vigo Football Club.
In September 2011, Pereiro rally debut as co-pilot with the pilot, Luis Gallego Penido in the Rally of San Froilan. Pereiro would then own the wheel of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution which premiered at the Madrid Race Rally Championship in Spain finishing fourteenth.

Is currently discussing major cycling tours. In December 2010 he debuted as a player in FC Coruxo subsidiary and subsequently released in the rally as navigator and pilot.
