Julio Salinas Fernandez is a former Spanish footballer born in Bilbao, September 11, 1962,
He played as a striker noted for his great goalscorer. His first team was the Athletic Club to make its debut in the Primera Division in Spain.
He played 17 seasons in the First Division, defending the jersey of six different teams, but was at the Athletic Club and especially at FC Barcelona where he won the greatest sporting success and professional recognition.
After playing at Barcelona signed for RC Deportivo Coruna, who won a second place league and Cup. A year later, was hired by Royal Sporting Gijon where he played two seasons.
In 1997 he went to play the Japanese League the following season and returned to Spain to play on the Deportivo Alaves his last two seasons before retiring.
Julio Salinas won 16 titles: 6 Leagues, 3 Cups, four Super Cups in Spain, a European Cup, 1 Cup Winners Cup and one UEFA Super Cup) and has played a total of 395 League games scoring 153 goals.
