Fermin Cacho Ruiz was born in the province of Soria in 1969 and during his career as an athlete, is considered one of the best Spanish athletes of all time
He specializes in the 1500 meter race.
Among his extensive track record should highlight two Olympic medals, the first gold was achieved in the 1,500 meters at the Barcelona Olympics in 1992 and a silver in the same run of the Atlanta Games in 1996.
He was proclaimed champion of Europe, the European 1994 and has also obtained a bronze medal at Euro 1998.
At the World Championships he won two major runners in 1993 and 1997.
Include indoor silver medals in the World Championships held in Seville in 1991 and the 1990 European Championships in Glasgow.
His personal best 3:28.95 in 1500 meters, achieved on August 13, 1997 in Zurich, continues to record for Spain and Europe.
Today is linked to the world of politics and is a lecturer defending the values of effort and perseverance to overcome challenges.
