The soprano from Argentina (Santa Fe) Virginia Tola has been internationally acclaimed in major opera houses such as Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, Teatro Regio di Torino, Teatro Giuseppe Verdi di Trieste, Washington National Opera, Los Angeles Opera, Theatre Royal Madrid, Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia in Valencia, Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville, Theatre Royal de la Monnaie De Munt in Brussels, Bregenz Festival, Teatro Colon, and many others.
Virginia completed her singing studies at Instituto Superior de Arte del Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires and attracted international attention to devote the first prize winner of the International Singing Competition Queen Sonja in Oslo, Norway, where the jury included great figures of history of the Opera, as Birgit Nilsson, Christa Ludwig, Theo Adam and Ingrid Bjoner. Her success in this competition immediately took a tour of concerts in various Scandinavian cities by the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of teachers and Marcello Viotti Janssons Marris.
Then she won the International Competition "Operalia", created and organized by the tenor Placido Domingo, winning three awards: "Audience Award", "Zarzuela Award" and the award of the philanthropist "Lloyd Rigler."
Later she made her debut at the Teatro Colon opera starring in Tales of Hoffmann, where she performed the role of Antonia.
Since then, Virginia has been seen and heard as Mimi in La Boheme at the opera in Washington, Rome, Turin, Los Angeles, Bordeaux, Oslo, Klagenfurt and Bregenz Festival, as Micaela in Carmen at the Teatro Real Madrid, in the Lyric Theatre of Cagliari, Torino, Washington, Oslo and Buenos Aires.
During the season 2005/2006 Virginia sang her first Margarita in Gounod's Faust at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste, then add two new roles to her repertoire, embodying in the opera Luisa Miller with the same name, for her debut at the Teatro Royal Wallonia, Liège, and representing the role of Fiordiligi in Cosi fan tutte, in her debut at the Theatre Royal de la Monnaie de Munt in Brussels, a role he returned to play during the same season at the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires. In season 2006/2007 Virginia debuted the role of Violetta Valery in La Traviata production to present the Theatre Royal de la Monnaie de Munt in Brussels and starred as Rosina and as Micaela operas The Barber of Seville and Carmen, both in the Den Norske Opera in Oslo. She also made her first appearances as Marguerite in Boito's Mefistofele version to present the Teatro Colon.
In her concert performances, Virginia has performed an extensive concert tour of Europe, Asia and America with tenor Placido Domingo, who with she has performed since the beginning of her career in numerous opera and zarzuela evenings, which have taken place in cities across the world, including Mexico City, Washington DC, Los Angeles, Halle, Benidorm, Trondheim, Sonderborg, Taipei, Granada, Barcelona, Lisbon, San Antonio, Guadalajara, La Romana and many others.
