Juan Pinilla Martin was born in Huétor-Tájar, Granada on January 2, 1983. Currently he excels in his role as critic, writer, researcher, columnist and especially flamenco singer.
He attaches himself to flamenco since childhood, listening to music from the hand of their parents and after attending the flamenco singing contest of Loja in the year 91. Gradually he establish contact with the world of flamenco in Granada, learning from 'teachers' as Curro Albayzín, Curro Andres, Paco Moyano, José Carlos Zarate and Francisco Manuel Diaz. Parallelly, he befriends Francisco Avila, big fan of Montefrío, who introduced him to the ways of Manuel Avila, Chacon, Thomas Pabon and Manuel Vallejo.
The awards begin to happen. He joined the company Zarate, along with starting to get on the stage. From the hand of the writer Paula Marin attends for the first time to the “Peña Platería” which later became his band and where he joined the board of directors.
Later, he begins to work in press and starts some research still to be concluded on the songs of Granada and the biographical profiles of Cobitos and Manuel Avila. Later he visits countries such as Germany, Poland, Iran, Denmark, Czech Republic, Japan, Portugal and Austria. Shares the bill with figures like Fosforito, Juanito Valderrama, Chano Lobato, Luis el Zambo, Miguel Poveda, Marina Heredia, Rancapinos and many more.
Same stresses as a scholar and researcher of flamenco, lecturing all over Spain. At the Festival de las Minas de La Unión obtained seven first prizes, rising in 2007 with the top prize “LAMPARA MINERA” making him the only singer from Granada that has this distinction today.
He is currently a contributor to the Granada Hoy and just released his second album. A book-album called "Las VOces Que No Callaron” (Dreamcatcher 2011).
