Henry Mendez

Henry Mendez

The life of Henry Mendez has always been linked to music since he began singing in festivals of his native city, Santo Domingo, the place from which he collected bachata and merengue influences, typical of Dominican Republic.

Despite the fact that he began his career singing hip-hop and rap, he began to combine the latin style with the electronic one once he was in Spain. He managed to gain a foothold in the Spanish music scene with songs like “Veo Veo” or “Pukutú”

The launch of “Rayos del Sol” in 2011 marked a before and an after in his career, as it became a media success, coming to be Platinum Disc in Spain, #1 in radios and network and #1 summer song in several European countries (France, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland...).Henry Mendez

After having millions of views on YouTube, Henry launched his next two singles together with DJ Jose de Rico, “Noche de estrellas” and “Te fuiste”, which were very successful among the European public. In fact, this songs were two of the ten most watched YouTube videos in Spain 2012.

In 2013 Henry Mendez decided to resume his solo career, releasing his single “Mi reina”, achieving impressive results: best selling National Artist for several consecutive weeks, #1 on Spotify, iTunes and surpassing 10 million views in just three months.

Another turning point in his career was the release of his single “El tiburón” (“The Shark”), a fully modernized and transformed version of the international classic Dominican group Proyecto Uno, almost 20 years after the original release, certainly one of the most recognizable songs of urban Latin genre worldwide.

His proposal in late 2013 was “Déjame contarte”, a mix of tropical and electronic sounds or, as it was called by Mendez, tropical electronic flow. Months later, still among one of the most played songs on digital platforms.

In May 2014, Henry Mendez confirmed his international career releasing his first solo album "DALE MAMBO" which has the participation of great artists, including the famous Mexican singer Dulce Maria (former member of the musical group RBD).
