From Norwegian, German, English, Irish and Italian descent, she is the great-granddaughter of Conrad Hilton (founder of the Hilton Hotels chain) and who has become a celebrity because of this.
She has been prepared as an author; model, actress, designer and singer who started in the reality show "The Simple Life" with her partner and childhood best friend Nicole Richie. She is known by several minor roles in films (most notably in the horror film House of Wax), her 2006 studio album “Paris”, and her modeling work.

Hilton helped design a collection of purses for Japanese label Samantha Thavasa, a jewelry line for Amazon.com, participated in the creation of a line by Parlux Fragrances perfume and finally her own Can Can fragrances, Paris Hilton, Just Me, Heiress, Fairy Dust and Siren.
She also released the DreamC atchers line of hair extensions in partnership with Hair Tech International. She signed with Antebi for a footwear line signature, "Paris Hilton Footwear" with high heels, platform, and a sports collection, expected in stores in 2008.
Then a line of tops, dresses, coats and pants at Kitson boutique in Los Angeles; she lent her name to a chain of nightclubs by Fred Khalilian and known as Club Paris. She posed nude, covered in gold paint, to promote "Rich Prosecco", a canned version of an Italian sparkling wine, also traveled to Germany to promote the drink, appearing in several print ads for the product.
