María Jesús Ruiz

María Jesús Ruiz Garzón (Andújar, Spain, December 25, 1982) is a Spanish model and actress winner of Miss España2004, represented Spain in Miss Universe 2004 and Reina Hispanoamericana 2007.

María Jesús was born and raised in Andújar (province of Jaén) with her parents: Miguel Ruiz, professional carrier and Juani Garzón, along with his brothers Susana and Miguel. She has a degree in Teaching by the University of Jaén in the specialty of Foreign Language and practiced as a French teacher in practices for secondary school students until the time she was proclaimed Miss Spain, which is why she had to leave aside her teaching and Her studies of Psychopedagogy to dedicate to its commitments like Miss Spain.

María Jesús won the Miss Spain contest in 2004 in which 52 candidates from each Spanish province took part. María Jesús represented the province of Jaén, having been previously chosen in the Miss Jaén provincial contest and also in a local contest in Arjonilla. In addition to winning the title of Miss Spain, she was awarded the Miss Marina d'Or award. After winning the title at the age of 21, she traveled to Ecuador to represent Spain in the Miss Universe 2004 competition. In Miss Universe, despite being a favorite, she did not qualify among the 15 finalists.

After participating in Miss Spain, María Jesús, wanted to focus his career on interpretation and fashion, but in 2005 participated in the 2nd edition of the TV reality show La Granja de los Famos not exempt from controversy when starring in scenes of sex With Daniel Martín (Dani DJ), a well-known personage of the pink press, being retransmitted in television by the chain Antena 3.

In 2006 she wrote her first book Memories of a Miss (Arcopress, 2007), where she tells of her experiences from her participation in Miss Jaén until her participation in Miss Universe.1 In 2007 she returned to the runways, 3 years after her participation in Miss Spain, since she was selected to be the Spanish representative in the international contest of Reina Hispanoamericana 2007 achieving in that contest a 2nd maid of honor proving to be a good representative of her country in beauty contests.

In 2010 she became the deputy director of a modeling agency in Alicante, however at the end of 2013 María Jesús decided to leave Spain to develop her career as a model and actress in Latin America. In 2015 she returned to Spain to give birth to her first daughter Alba, born in Andújar on June 10, 2015, by the businessman José María Gil Silgado.
