Jesús Alvarez was born in Madrid in February 22nd 1958.
He is a journalist, son of journalist Jesús Alvarez Senior and descendant of Miguel De Cervantes, was the first Spaniard journalist who presented a news bulletin.
He started his professional activity in 1975 at the same time he was starting his journalist studies in college, title he would get later on from “Universidad Complutense de Madrid”.
He debuted in the radio with Joaquín Soler Serrano and Antonio García. He also worked in Spain’s Natonal Radio and in 1977 debuted on TV in the news space “Siete Días”, in which he worked until 1980.
Among the shows in which he has worked in, there are “Estudio Estadio” (1981-1986), “Cerca de las Estrellas” (1989) and “Todo Motor” (1989). Since 1989 he is in charge of transmitting the sports news of the news bulletin he presents with Ana Blanco. He also participated in entertainment shows like “Mira Quién Baila” and “Eurovisión De Baile”.
The popularity he got allowed him to participate with minor roles in some movies back in the day when he was starting his now long career. This movies were “Historias de la Televisión”, “Ha Llegado Un Angel” and “La Gran Familia”.
In 1961 he got the “Premio Ondas” award to the best radio announcer of local programs
