Velencoso began her modeling career before finishing high school, signing a contract with Group Model Management, a Spanish modeling agency. But the beginning of his career was full of rejections, a buzzing haircut and a muscular body did not seem to be the ideal image that the European market demanded.
When Velencoso went to Milan almost all the agents thought he was also big and clumsy. Her fortune changed when Natalie Kate, of the New York agency Q Model Management, opened the doors in 2001, despite her inability to speak English. Kate started him in experience with four new Polaroid in his book and introduced him to meet people.
One of the people was the photographer Matt Albiani, who was enchanted by Andrés for a publishing house that was working for him. The next day, Andrés found himself in a photo shoot in East Hampton, New York. Then, in the few days in the city, he was caught by the eyes of some industries of famous photographers, including Michael Thompson and Francois Nars. Around the same time, the grace with which velencoso carries the shoes without tying began to go viral.3 4 In 2002, he took care of the Banana Republic advertising campaign and a day later starred in Louis Vuitton ads, next to Jennifer Lopez.
He signed a perfume contract with Chanel Allure Homme Sport and began to be the face of Loewe in 2004. He published his first magazine cover for Arena Home + for the English edition of 2005 and appeared in Jean Paul Gaultier's commercial, with Gisele Bündchen and Diana Dondoe.5 Velencoso has been on the covers of many fashion magazines, including L'Officiel Hommes, Hercules, Arena Homme +, and the international editions of Elle, Vanity Fair and L'Officiel Homme. Since its debut, Banana Republic, Louis Vuitton, H & M, Trussardi, Chanel, Ermenegildo Zegna, Loewe, Jean Paul Gaultier, Elie Tahari and Etro. Apart from Thompson and Nars, he worked with acclaimed photographers such as Terry Richardson, Karl Lagerfeld, Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.
He signed with Wilhelmina in New York, MGM in Paris, 2:00 PM Model Management in Copenhagen, I LOVE Models in Milan and Donna Models in Tokyo.6 He appeared in the announcement of the new Inverse fragrance by Kylie Minogue.7 Velencoso received the Tossenc award D'Honor in his hometown of Tossa de Mar on May 14, 2010 in Gerona, Spain.
