Enrique Jose Martin Morales, known as Ricky Martin was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 1971.
He is a singer, songwriter and actor who began his musical career in the mid-1980s, as lead singer of a group of children called Menudo.
Since he began his artistic life, Ricky always knew that in this field as elsewhere, the evolution never ends. So he has honed his creative spirit of gender diversity. Knowing that music has no boundaries, it did become an artist. And his voice became a vehicle of expression.
Since establishment in 1991 as a soloist, today, with more than two decades devoted to the world of music, has released nine studio albums, three compilations and singles over fifty Spanish and English. It has sold over 60 million albums.
His best-selling album is the one launched in 1999, titled Ricky Martin. Throughout his career he has received awards including the Grammy, Latin Grammy, Billboard and MTV.
Ricky Martin is also an important activist for human rights. As a Unicef ambassador, created the foundation and the project RickyMartinfuntadion People For Children to combat trafficking and sexual exploitation of children and has participated in several benefit concerts, including the Pavarotti & Friends.
