Paty Cantú, born on November 25, 1983, in Houston, Texas, and raised in Guadalajara, Jalisco, is a Mexican singer, songwriter, producer, and actress who has developed a solid career in Spanish pop. Her musical proposal combines lyrical sensitivity, interpretative force, and a constant stylistic evolution, which has allowed her to consolidate herself as one of the most influential female voices in contemporary Latin music.

Her first recognition in the music industry came as part of the duo Lu, a project she formed with musician Mario Sandoval between 2002 and 2007. The group achieved popularity with hits such as “Por besarte,” “Una confusión,” and “Duele,” themes that connected with a young generation through their romantic and melancholic lyrics. After the dissolution of the duo, Paty began her career as a soloist, marking the beginning of a stage characterized by authenticity and creative control over her work.
