Biography
ANA MARIA ALIAS VEGA, singer of the Spanish song, was born in Madrid on April 23, 1976, was artistically baptized with the name of PASIÓN VEGA.
Although Pasión Vega was born in Madrid, but from the age of three he grew up in the Nueva Málaga neighborhood of the Malaga capital where his family originated.
In 1992, when he was 16 years old, he presented himself to a radio contest in the Cadena Ser, being third, in 1993 he won the contest.
The prize consisted of the edition of his first single in vinyl with the title These details in that single of vinyl still appears with his real name, Ana María Alias.
In 1995 he participates in the Benidorm Festival with the song «En mi voz», and as a result of his first successes in singing competitions and his confirmation as an artist on stage, comes the first professional record recording A touch of distinction (1996 ).
In 1997 “With the soul on the lips” and 2000 “Crown of pearls”, both more coplero style than the first disc.
His first triumphs on the professional stages were at the Lope de Vega Theater in Seville and at the Cervantes Theater in Malaga.
At the beginning, his repertoire is made up of classic songs that attract a mature audience, territorially limited to Andalusia, and later become known throughout Spain in a second stage of his career.
Already from his first presentations he reaped that style without falling into the topics that accompany the tonadilleras, he did not need gowns, or sing with involvement or vocal or scenic excesses to interpret the songs of Quintero, León and Quiroga among other classic authors , thus recognizing the excellence and qualities of a genre that is part of its cultural and musical tradition. But after the tribute to the copla classics, it was time to innovate in his career and bet on current authors – both consecrated and unknown – who lived up to their qualities, to help him advance in the development of his artistic expressiveness and keep growing as an artist.
