NATALIA LACUNZA

Natalia Lacunza is a Spanish singer and songwriter, born in Pamplona, known for ranking third in the famous program Operación Triunfo in the 2018 edition.

She started out as a singer with the stage name Elian Bay, which was inspired by James Bay, one of her favorite artists. In 2017 she auditioned for the musical television contest La Voz. She sang “I Lived” by One Republic but was disqualified after blind auditions.

In January 2019, she was chosen as a candidate to represent Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. In the end, Lacunza’s place was taken by Miki Núñez. When asked why she gave up her spot for Eurovision, Natalia told the media about the pressure and responsibility of participating in such a prolific contest as a new artist.

In February 2019 she began a co-headlining tour with her fellow talent in Madrid. This tour ended in Cádiz in August, with 13 concerts and bringing together more than 120,000 fans.

In June 2019, she released her single “Nana Triste” along with her debut EP Otros Alas and with this she became the revelation artist of the year. Natalia was not only a trend with “Other Wings”, but it was also the most famous debut of the program. The success of “Nana Triste”, “Tarantula” and “Olivia” was something that not even the artist herself expected.

In January 2020 Lacunza was nominated for ‘Best New Artist’, ‘Best Female Performance’ and ‘Best Album’ for Otros Alas at the 2020 Odeón Awards. In the same year she released “When you left” in collaboration with Aitana.

On June 19, 2020, Natalia released an extended live play titled “En Casa”, which includes four songs from the EP2 performed in an acoustic version at her home. That same day, a 2-sided vinyl single including “Forget About Me” and “Something Hurts More” was marketed in selected stores as part of the “Record Store Day” campaign, which hopes to prevent CD stores from closing.
