Teresa won 27 medals at the Summer Paralympic Games between the years 2000 and 2020. In addition, she obtained 22 medals at the World Para Swimming Championships between the years 1998 and 2019. On August 29, 2012, she was the flag bearer for the Spanish delegation at the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games in the city of London.

She is currently a speaker and personal coach.
