VANESSA CAÑIZARES

Lyrical Full Soprano, born in Sabadell (Barcelona). She later moved to El Vendrell (Tarragona) where she began her music studies in the same town. She was a member of the Coral Polifonica del Vendrell under the direction of Mr. Joan Toldra, where she soon stood out as a soloist. In her training period she has received singing lessons from Isabel Penagos, Carmen Bustamante and currently and for four years she has been studying and perfecting with the prestigious Tenor Daniel Muñoz in Barcelona. She debuted as a solo soprano in Carmina Burana by C. Orff in El Vendrell (Tarragona) and the role of Lola in Cavalleria Rusticana in Barcelona. She has taken courses and masterclasses with Montserrat Caballe, Carmen Bustamante, Jaume Aragall, Daniel Muñoz, Ricardo Estrada and the maestro-composer and conductor Miquel Ortega.
She has worked with rehearsal coaches, Josep Caralt, Ricardo Estrada, Manel Ruiz, Josep Buforn, Luis Avedaño, Elena Kolesnikova and Marta Pujol, Manuel Angel Burgueras. In Spanish theaters she has sung the following operas, such as: La Traviata (Violetta), Rigoletto concert version (Gilda), La Boheme (Mimí), Cavalleria Rusticana (Lola), The Magic Flute (Pamina). She also participates in the representation of different zarzuelas, such as: Luisa Fernanda (Duchess Carolina), La Tabernera del Puerto (Marola), La Alegría de la Huerta (Carola), La Corte de Faraon (Raquel).
As well as a soloist in various works, including: Gloria by Vivaldi, Magnificat by J.S. Bach, Stabat Mater by Pergolesi, Requiem by Mozart, Carmina Burana by C. Orff, Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, Stabat Mater by Rossini.
She has participated in different zarzuela recitals during the Zarzuela Week, organized by Caja Madrid – Obra Social – Espai Cultural in Barcelona. Recital of the Great Anthology of Spanish Zarzuela in Sibiu – (Romania), organized by Filarmonicasibiu. She has sung in the main Spanish theaters and auditoriums, including the Gran Teatre de Liceu (Barcelona) and the prestigious Perelada Festival.
In August 2014 she was awarded the Solfa Management Scholarship at the XI International Singing Course Camerata Sant Cugat 2014.
Her most recent and future commitments for this 2020 include: Trovatore (Leonora), La Boheme (Mimí), La Norma (Norma), as well as other recitals and concerts.
