The Huelva neighborhood of “Los Rosales” saw the growth of the passion of José Antonio Velasco Ruiz, known as Maki, for music and sports. In his adolescence he lived a creative stage and at the age of 18 he started working in local radio stations until he arrived in Onda Colombina in 2003, where he recorded his first demo.

Thanks to the good reception of the demo, he started a concert tour around Andalusia that augured a promising future for the young Maki. In his particular style, Maki’s musical influences are clear, ranging from the purest flamenco to American rap and 80’s pop.

Maki’s first album entitled “DI XQ TE VAS” published in 2005, positioned him as a revelation artist in Andalusia 2006 with hits such as “Calé tuneá”, “Vuela” or “Más que palabras”.

After the good reception of his debut, Maki released a second album full of gratitude as his name announced “A million thanks”. This second work had collaborations as the Spanish rapper Breack or Mario Méndes in “Mi tigresa” (chosen song of the summer 2007).

In 2008 and after selling thousands of copies of her two previous albums, it was time to release “Ojalá”, Maki’s third album with outstanding collaborations such as the flamenco artist Farina, Yanira Figueroa and Mr. Lingue.

Maki gathered her greatest hits in a compilation with 4 unreleased songs in 2009. With the release of her first single “Te quiero a morir” in collaboration with her inseparable partner Maria Artés “LaMorena”, she swept away the Andalusian and Spanish public.

In 2017 he stars in the biggest boom of his career when he discovers and produces the Demarco Flamenco debut.

Demarco’s first album sold out nationally in record time and Maki and Demarco’s first hit “La Isla del Amor” has gone round the world dancing from Madrid to Miami with more than 50 million hits on Youtube.
