LUIS MARIANO
Luis Mariano Renedo de Lucas was born in Granada in the heart of a family without a Flemish tradition, which was not an obstacle to arouse in him the curiosity for the guitar and the art to which he would later consecrate his life. He began his apprenticeship in adolescence with local guitarists Pepe “El Marino” and “Gazpacho”, with whom he would learn his first chords.
Shortly afterwards, and almost by chance, he went to the tablao “Reina Mora” that then ran the outstanding singer Angustias Ruíz “la Mona” and to be heard by the sacromontana was hired immediately. Here he graduated, in his own words, on the rhythmic, aesthetic and flamenco issues, especially in the accompaniment to the dance, which has been and is still being demanded by important flamenco dance figures.
He began to stand out among young generations of guitarists from Granada and was required to accompany first figures such as Mariquilla (with whom, in addition to collaborating in several of his shows, he works hand in hand at his academy, one of the most prestigious national and international ), Farruquito, Antonio Canales, Rafael Amargo, Juan Ramírez, Tatiana Garrido, Diego “El Cigala”, Estrella Morente, Marina Heredia, La Tati, Juan Andrés Maya, Curro Albayzín, Jaime “El Parrón”, Manuel Liñan or Luis de la Pica among others.
In his long journey he has toured such important theaters as the National Theater, the Calderón, the Albéniz or the “La Villa” Cultural Center in Madrid, the Madrid Medical College, the Cante de Las Minas de La Unión Cathedral Murcia), the Central University of Caracas (Venezuela), the Tehran National Theater (Iran, the Maria Pitá Theater of Lima (Peru), the Damascus Opera, the Sadler’s Squire in New York, the “Manuel de Falla” Of Granada or the Lope de Vega of Seville, to name a few.
His touch as a soloist is a clear continuation of Granada’s aesthetics: clean, rhythmic and intelligent. He has been awarded two national awards in the National Guitar Competition of Jumilla: first prize “Uva de Oro” to the best guitar soloist 2006 and a special mention to touch by tarantas. He also accompanied Juan Pinilla the night of the final of the last Mine Festival of La Union, where they stood with the Lamp Mining.
He directs and composes for the companies of the bailaora “La Tati” in “La Casa de Bernarda Alba” by Tatiana Garrido with whom he creates “Fire and Sand” and “Sueños del flamenco”, traveling around the world and receiving very good reviews, Of Juan Andrés Maya for the show “En Cuerpo y Alma”. For the bailaor and choreographer Manuel Liñán composes and directs the musical production of the shows “Tauro”, selected for the Max Music and Performing Arts Awards, and “Mundo y A Parte”, with which he toured the main theaters in Spain And much of Europe. For singer Patricia Guerrero, national dance award, she works as a composer and director in the show “Matisse”, presented at FEX 2011. For Lucía Guarnido in the shows “A mi aire” and “Suma y sigue” and also participated in The show “Pastora 1922” by the Cantaora from Granada, Estrella Morente.
He participates under the direction of Maestro Manolo Sanlucar in the “Magna del Flamenco”, a project supported by the Junta de Andalucía in which the first figures of this art collaborate, such as Paco de Lucía, Vicente Amigo, Carmen Linares, Estrella …
