Capullo de Jerez, artistic name of Miguel Flores Quirós, born on April 6, 1954, in Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz), in the Santiago neighborhood.

He is an artist in the old style, formed from childhood in the school of life and sings twenty-four hours a day. An absolutely personal interpreter, who can be identified, without the slightest doubt, almost before he begins to warm up. He possesses the genuine soniquete (rhythm) of his land, but approaches the cantes (flamenco songs) in a way that clearly differentiates him from all his countrymen. Like the great creators, he has coined his own seal. In the increasingly monotonous flamenco scene of the early 21st century, ‘El Capullo de Jerez’ is an artist from Cadiz who imprints his own seal on his interpretations, difficult to categorize. His strength on stage stands out, the visual spectacle he offers with his arm and head movements, with his gestures, an emblem of improvisation.
