ALAZÁN
Sara Salazar and Encarna Salazar were born in Madrid in mid 70’s, but are from Extremadura. They belong to a family of artists which has always felt the singing and dancing as a way to express their gypsy raze.
Nieces of the great flamenco singer Porrina of Badajoz and sister and niece of international and “Azúcar Moreno” and Chunguitos, these two women carry in their the art of the Salazar family. After much collaboration with their family and several solo albums by Sara, the two artists decided to pool their talents and form the group “Alazán”.
With their first band, this two women won the Benidorm Festival in 2000 with the song “Alcanzarás La Luna” produced by Jose Antonio Granados, becoming one of the most listened records in all radio stations, going in an extensive Tour with more tan 70 concerts in Spain, a golden record with more tan 80.000 sold copies, taking the band to the top of the sales lists.
With their second work “Reinas de corazones” produced by Pablo Pinilla, the band got another total success with the song “Los latidos del corazón“, a joyfull and fun song that has not stopped being played in all the clubs in the country, taking them once more to the top sales lists, getting another golden record and more thank 60 concerts all over the Spanish geography.
In November 2002 goes on sale the duo’s third album “Gypsy Woman”.
The excellent production by Javier Losada has given this album a powerful and modern sound, prepared to conquer any Spanish dance floor or internationals ones.alazan With this mentioned last work Alazán travels to Romania and Bulgaria, and achieve one more success in their career, with tours conducted in both countries, ranking among the top 10 lists, songs like “Voulez Vous singer ”, “Gipsy Woman”, sung in English, French and Italian and danced in all the clubs in the country.
In May 2004 the group’s fourth album “Tita p’alante” hits the market. It was produced by Jose Antonio Granados as well and had luxury collaborations like David De Maria participating in the album making a duet with Sarah and Encarna with the song “Pena de Mi”, composed by David.
In that album you can find songs from the flamenco pop as “Guirigay”, then the Rumba genre like “Tira P’Alante” or the retro dance genre with “Ay Qué Calor”. This last song was elected by TV channel Antena 3 as the theme song of the network for that summer season, making the band get another great success in their professional track with an extensive Tour around Spain and Portugal, with more than 70 concerts.
Their latest album “Digan Lo Que Digan” is an album with a fresh sound with which they participated in the writing and production of songs like “Mira Como Suena”, “Mujeres” a ballad dedicated to battered women, or “Amame” a song full of feelings.
Recorded at Golden Hits Studios and directed and produced by Daniel Ambrojo, producer and songwriter of artists like David Bisbal or Bustamante, is undoubtedly the best work that these two great artists have done.
