She graduated in Journalism from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and began working as an editor in 1999 in the news services of Ràdio 4.

Later she produced the program *El Matí de Catalunya Ràdio*, and in 2005 she joined the news services of Televisión Española.

In February 2006 she began to present the *Telediario de Fin de Semana*, and in September 2009 she debuted at the head of *59 segundos*.

María Casado has also presented the *Gala Inocente, Inocente*, and since 2018 she has been the president of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Throughout her career she has been awarded the Gredos Prize, the Golden Antenna and the Golden Microphone, among others.
