Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was born into a professional wrestling family in 1972.
An injury ended his college football career, so he entered the ring with the World Wrestling Federation. As “The Rock,” he had a feud with wrestler Steve Austin and won the WWF/WWE heavyweight title on numerous occasions. Johnson then turned his wrestling fame into a film career, appearing in projects such as 2001’s “The Mummy Returns” and 2010’s “Tooth Fairy.” Later projects include the HBO series “Ballers” and leading roles in the “The Fast and the Furious” and Jumanji franchises.

Since his retirement from WWE in 2004, he left wrestling and focused on his film career. However, his company continued to sell The Rock brand products, and Johnson often appears in presentations of his television shows.
His special talent for playing roles in action or sports-related films has led him to participate in major film productions such as “Scorpion King,” his first leading role, “Driver,” “The Game Plan,” playing Joe Kingman, “Get Smart” as Agent 23, “Pain & Gain”, “G.I. Joe: Retaliation”, “Snitch”, “San Andreas”, “Rampage”…

He appeared in the Guinness Book of World Records (2007) for being the actor who received the highest salary ($5 million) in his first film role (The Mummy Returns).
He lent his voice for the first time in 2009 for the animated film “Planet 51”, produced by the Spanish company Ilion Animation Studios, and later in 2016 his voice gives life to the demigod Maui in the Disney animated film: “Moana”.
In 2006, Johnson founded the Dwayne Johnson Rock Foundation, a charity that works with at-risk and terminally ill children. In 2017, he donated $25,000 to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. In 2018, Johnson donated a gym to a military base in Oahu, Hawaii. After the Hawaii floods in 2018, he worked with Malama Kauai, a non-profit organization, to help repair the damage caused by the floods. Johnson has also worked with the Make-A-Wish Foundation on several occasions.
