Maverick Viñales Ruiz (Figueras, Gerona, January 12, 1995) is a Spanish motorcycle racing champion of the world.

In 2013 he was proclaimed world champion in Moto3 in the last round of the World Championship. 2 In the 2014 season he competed in the Moto2 category in the PONS Racing team. Since the 2015 season he competes in the MotoGP category in the Suzuki team. On May 19, 2016, Viñales signed a two-year contract with the Movistar Yamaha MotoGP to replace Jorge Lorenzo from the 2017 season.

He is also the cousin of the motorcycling pilot Isaac Viñales.
