At fourteen, she was a junior world champion, having won the Orange Bowl and the European Championship and being a semifinalist at Wimbledon. Months later, she became the youngest player to participate and win a Fed Cup match.

In 1996, she won her first two titles in the ITF women’s circuit and in 1997 she was the second player in history to reach the Wimbledon semifinal when she debuted in this tournament and ranked 26th in the world.

In 1999 he failed to win any individual tournament and only reached the final at Hilton Head, where he lost to Martina Hingis. In July of 1999, his new trainer is the Dutchman Eric Van Harper and participates in the movie ‘Me, Myself and Irene’, along with Jim Carrey.
