This year 2023 is the 65th GRAMMY Awards ceremony that will take place next Sunday, February 5 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, it will be an evening of many surprises as there are several records that are broken in this show of recognition to the most outstanding musical artists of the year.
The one who heads the list of nominees is Queen Beyoncé for her recent album Renaissance, she stands out in 9 categories such as album of the year, best song of the year and best R&B song, she is established as the artist with the most nominations for this edition, in addition, she becomes together with her husband the rapper Jay-Z as the most nominated artists in the history of these awards obtaining a total of 88 nominations each.
On the other hand, we have the global reggaeton phenomenon Bad Bunny, who joins the competition with his fabulous production: ¨Un Verano Sin Ti¨ which has three nominations in the categories: best album of the year, best solo pop performance for ¨Moscow Mule¨ and best Latin urban music album, although he was left out of other major categories, his participation stands out because it is the first album in Spanish to be taken into account for the best album of the year category in the entire history of the awards.
As for other nominations, we have hip hop artist Kendrick Lamar with eight, singers Adele and Brandi Carlile, with seven each; Harry Styles, DJ Khaled, Future and Mary J. Blige also have six nominations. Clearly we can’t leave out Taylor Swift who has four nominations including best song of the year for her new version of the masterpiece “All Too Well.”
One of the big surprises was the few nominations that Rosalía received this year. Even though Motomami was rated as the best album in the world with 94 points out of 100 on the Metacritic platform, the academy only took it into consideration for two categories: Best long-form music video for Motomami (TikTok Live Performance) and another for Best Latin rock or alternative album.
From the offices of Totalisimo we extend our congratulations to each of the artists for their great work throughout the year. For us, they are all winners, although only some will take a Grammy home. Who do you think they are?
Remember that this ceremony will be broadcast live on Sunday, February 5 at 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. PT) on CBS and can also be seen live on the streaming service of the official website https://live.grammy.com/ or Paramount+. Don’t miss it!
