Raimundo Amador

Raimundo AmadorRaimundo Amador Fernández, being true to his history and culture is one of the most important Spanish musicians, personal and charismatic.

He was born in May 26th 1959 in Seville, and since his father taught him to play guitar when he was 12, he did not separate from it again. Currently, he is a guitarist and composer of Spanish flamenco. 

His music style is focused on fusing flamenco with other styles such as rock or blues.

Raimundo contributed to the recording of the “Leyenda Del Tiempo” with Camarón de la Isla, Paco de Lucia and with Kiko Veneno, formed “Veneno” in 1977, a band that revolutionized the ideological, stylistic and aesthetic of flamenco. His album “Veneno" marked the before and after fusion in flamenco.

With "Pata Negra", a group formed in 1981 with his brother Rafael, began to give life to Flamenco-Blues fusion. Later, he impulses a new band called “Arrajatabla” with the old former gRaimundo Amadoruitar player of the band “Guadalquivir” Luis Cobos “El Manglis” to edit Seville Blues. Since 1995 began as a solo singer and guitarist where he has earned a place in the world of music. He has always been surrounded by great musicians that have collaborated with him: Antonio Carmona, Remedios Amaya, Cathy Claret, Enrique Morente, Lole and Manuel, Sorderita, Ketama, Kiko Veneno, Juan Perro, Andrés Calamaro, Mala Rodríguez, the Montoya family, Camarón, Martirio, No me Pises que Llevo Chanclas, Rosario, José Soto "Sordera", El Lín, Luz Casal, Antonio Flores, Los Rodríguez, Nacho García Vega, Nacho Campillo, Malevaje, Tomatito, Björk and an almost endless list. He emphasized his support to BB King on tour in Spain.

His discography is extensive and well-known, “Gerundina” was his first solo album, followed by “En La Esquina De Las Vegas”, “Noches De Flamenco y Blues”, “Un Okupa En Tu Corazón”, “Isla Menor”, “Mundo Amador” and his latest album “Medio Hombre y Medio Guitarra”. In 2012 becomes the first Spanish artist to become international Fender artist.
