No Me Pises Que Llevo Chanclas

Los Chanclas

No Me Pises Que Llevo Chanclas is a pop-rock band formed in 1986 in Los Palacios, Seville province, becoming one of the bands that have sold more albums in Andalusia.

Their concerts always arouse great excitement, becoming in 1992 the only group that repeated live performance at Expo 92 in Seville on August 11 and closing on 12 October.

Ay, qué pena me da, que se me ha muerto el canario…” This refrain, as is well known, swept across the country in the mid-90s. Its authors, “No Me Pises Que Llevo Chanclas” were not newcomers. They - as happened a few years later with Los del Rio "Macarena" – already had a few albums released and had also enjoyed success since their debut, although nothing comparate to massive high levels. However, "Canario" was the only approach of many people to the work “Chanclera” and the excessive spread of this song had made enough of the group forever and for everyone. Therefore it is worth noting that this is not a "one hit wonder" band and the discography of these Sevillian Band is larger and, if possible, funnier than this song.

They continued to maintain a loyal and following audience. But over time they occur to decrease and retire until the turn of the millennium came and the band assumed their careers to be over after the release of "Con Chanclas y A Lo Loco" (Horus, 2000). In those years, Paco Machuca Joins "La Otra Banda," Salvador builds Dorsal Fin and Pepe Begines starts his solo career. The group disbanded and lead singer, Pepe Begines, began a solo career as a TV host and singer, with his albums, Gira Mundial (2002 together with Kiko Veneno), “Mi Propia Película (2004) and "Live in Lisbon" (2007), this last one under the pseudonym of “Pepe The Lusitano”.

After Their voluntary retirement of more than a decade, the band from Seville “No Me Pises Que Llevo Chanclas” return to the music scene with a new album, 'Superheroe Agropop'.
