Jonas Kaufmann was born in Munich on July 10, 1969, as a child his approach to classical music by his father and grandfather was very important and began his studies at the Musikhochschule in Munich, where he studied Hans Hotter and James King.

In 1992 he made his debut with small roles in the Bayerische Staatsoper and the Theater am Gärtnerplatz of their city.

Since 2001, he joined the ensemble of the Zurich Opera House, and from there his career was extended to all theaters of the world. He debuted, among others, at Covent Garden, Chicago, Paris, New York Met, the Vienna Staatsoper, Berlin, and this past summer, the legendary theater in Bayreuth.

He has become a star from which no major theater can do without, is worshiped by thousands of fans and critics at his feet.
